The Mission | Combat Wounded of Texas
Intent
The Combat Wounded of Texas vision is to execute our missions with extreme professionalism and help Veterans and their families avoid times of crisis. This will be accomplished by establishing programs and activities aimed at reducing the sources of instability that lead veterans and their family’s into crisis. We will be forward thinking and proactive.
End State
The Combat Wounded of Texas is able to improve the overall wellbeing of military veterans and their families and reduce times of crisis. Additionally, we preserve and transfer our knowledge and lessons learned to future leaders in and out of uniform.
Strategy
1: Leader Development:
This is the foundation to our success. Leaders in and out of uniform must be proficient and capable to teach, coach, mentor, counsel, and develop those around them (above, below, and parallel). Every Veteran and their family bring something to the fight and we must cross level that knowledge within our formation. We have a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience spanning numerous wars and conflicts that cannot be lost leaving the next generation of warfighter to relearn the hard way. Regardless of generation and technology, taking care of your fellow brothers and sisters in arms both in and out of uniform is paramount. Be and help develop the leader you want to lead the future sons and daughters into harm’s way.
2: Readiness:
We must maintain a high level of readiness and stand ready to answer the call when a Veteran or their family is in need. We take pride in our organization, our programs, and those that answered the nations call. We will do everything we can to ensure that veterans and their families have access to resources and information before a crisis. This starts with regular contact and participation in activities and events.
3: Discipline and Standards:
We all swore an oath and accepted the fact that we hold ourselves to a higher standard all day every day no matter what. Discipline is essential to preform effectively and guarantee mission accomplishment in any condition.
4: Balance:
Enjoy your time here in the great state of Texas. Meet up, go fishing, traveling, ride your bike, spend time with your family and friends. Every day you are here is a day that you are not deployed somewhere around the world in a combat zone.
